Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- All the museums under the purview of the Department of National Museums including the National Museum, Colombo will be closed on Mondays from September 1, 2025, the Department of National Museums announced.
The Department announced that the museums will be closed on Mondays for maintenance work.
It said museums will be closed on Independence Day, two days of the Sinhala and Hindu New year, May Day and Vesak Poya Day.
The Department said that the National Museum and the Natural History Museum will be opened on other days from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm while provincial museums will be opened from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
