Sri Lanka, April 18 -- Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces, as well as in the Nuwara Eliya district after 1.00 p.m. today, according to the latest weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m.

The Meteorology Department said that mainly dry weather will prevail across the rest of the island.

Misty conditions are likely in parts of the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, along with the Galle and Matara districts, during the early hours of the morning.

The general public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
