Sri Lanka, Dec. 6 -- The Disaster Management Center (DMC) reports that the death toll from the recent severe weather has risen to 611, according to an update issued this afternoon. A further 213 people remain missing.

All 25 districts across the island have been impacted, with 2,054,535 individuals from 576,626 families affected by the adverse conditions.

The DMC also confirmed that 114,126 people from 33,622 families are currently sheltered in 956 evacuation centers.

In terms of property damage, 4,309 houses have been completely destroyed, while 69,635 houses have sustained partial damage.
