Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- A 25-year-old man was arrested with 400 medicine tablets allegedly intended for illegal sale during a joint Navy-Police operation in Anuradhapura yesterday (29).

The arrest was made in the Matale Junction area following information received by the Sri Lanka Naval Ship Pandukabhaya establishment under the North Central Naval Command.

Navy personnel, together with Anuradhapura Police, conducted the search based on the information and found the stock of 400 medicine tablets in the suspect's possession.

The suspect, a resident of Anuradhapura, was taken into custody along with the tablets.

The Navy said the suspect and the seized tablets were handed over to the Anuradhapura Police for further legal action.
