Mumbai, Oct. 13 -- Welspun Enterprises' material subsidiary, Welspun Michigan Engineers (WMEL), has secured a Rs. 660 mn contract from the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) for rehabilitating an old sewer line in New Delhi. The contract value excludes goods and services tax (GST), the company said in a regulatory filing dated October 7, 2026.
The project covers an old twin-barrel sewer made up of 2,100 mm-diameter NP-2 Class reinforced cement concrete (RCC) pipes. The sewer stretch runs from C-Hexagon to Lodhi Road through Zakir Hussain Marg, Golf Course and Subramanium Bharti Marg.
The contract was awarded by a domestic entity and must be completed within 18 months from the commencement date. WMEL received the formal communication regarding the project after 3 pm on October 6, according to the company's disclosure.
Following the contract win, WMEL's current order book has risen to approximately Rs. 23.57 bn. Welspun Enterprises said it had added projects worth about Rs. 3.67 bn, excluding GST and provisional sums, since June 2026.
The project expands WMEL's pipeline in urban infrastructure and sewer rehabilitation and provides additional revenue visibility during the execution period. The company said its promoter, promoter group and group companies had no interest in NDMC, and the contract did not fall under related-party transactions.
