Mumbai, Aug. 7 -- Sterling Green Power Solutions (SGPS), part of the Sterling & Wilson Group, has opened a new manufacturing facility in the industrial hub of Talegaon near Pune, marking a first milestone in its planned multi-location expansion to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and serve customers across commercial and industrial segments. The facility was inaugurated on July 31, 2026 and forms the opening phase of a capacity augmentation roadmap aimed at broader geographic coverage and operational resilience. The company framed the move as a strategic response to growing demand for reliable power solutions across retail, institutional and public sectors.
The Talegaon plant will manufacture Diesel Generator (DG) sets ranging from 100 kVA to 750 kVA and is equipped with advanced manufacturing processes designed to support consistent quality and output. Annual production capacity is approximately 1,000 units and output will be directed at retail customers as well as rental, hospitality, healthcare, education, government and industrial applications. The plant features modern assembly and testing capabilities tailored to ensure product reliability and minimise downtime for end users.
The expansion roadmap includes additional facilities at Chakan MIDC and a planned plant at Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah, reflecting intentions to broaden the manufacturing footprint across multiple locations. The chairman described the programme as a carefully designed effort to uphold high quality standards, enhance manufacturing capabilities and exceed customer expectations. The chief executive officer emphasised that the company remains committed to delivering reliable and efficient power solutions that protect operations and enhance customer experience while reducing service interruptions.
The company is targeting critical infrastructure segments such as airports, metro lines, townships and factories and noted that its back-up power solutions fully support the recently inaugurated Navi Mumbai International Airport in western India. The new plant is positioned to reinforce supply chains and strengthen responsiveness to sectoral needs as customer expectations evolve. The expansion is framed as a continuation of efforts to bolster manufacturing capacity and sustain service reliability across the group.
