Mumbai, June 30 -- Statcon Energiaa Pvt Ltd has secured an order from L&T Electrolysers Limited to supply high-power rectifiers for India's largest green hydrogen plant at Indian Oil Corporation Limited's Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex in Haryana. The 10 kTPA green hydrogen facility is being developed by L&T Energy GreenTech and is targeted for commissioning by December 2027.

The project marks a major step in IOCL's plan to generate 350 kTPA of green hydrogen by 2030. It is also positioned as one of India's first large-scale refinery-linked green hydrogen projects powered by domestically manufactured electrolysers. L&T Electrolysers is producing high-pressure alkaline electrolysers in 4 MW modular blocks at its Hazira facility in Gujarat.

Statcon Energiaa will supply matching 4 MW rectifier blocks to power these electrolysers. The rectifiers will use IGBT chopper-based technology backed by AEG Power Solutions, Germany. Under its agreement with AEG Power Solutions GmbH, Statcon Energiaa will design, assemble, commission and service the systems in India using proven core components while adapting them for local operating conditions.

The rectifiers feature a thyristor-based 12-pulse bridge with IGBT chopper, liquid cooling for continuous operation, low-ripple DC output and high input power quality for renewable energy-based electrolysis. These features are critical for stable alkaline electrolysis, improved efficiency, harmonic distortion control and reliable operation under variable solar and renewable power conditions.

Statcon Energiaa said the order reflects its long-standing focus on indigenous power electronics manufacturing. The company has more than 37 years of experience and has supplied rectifiers for green hydrogen projects, including the NTPC Green Hydrogen Mobility Project in Leh. It has also delivered power systems for defence, solar and industrial applications, with over 30,000 installations across more than 25 countries.
