
Mumbai, Sept. 1 -- Skipper gained after it secured Rs 13.05 billion (bn) of orders for transmission and distribution projects, prompting a share price rise of two point three five per cent to Rs 560. The orders cover projects across India and export markets and include the supply of transmission towers and monopoles for projects in North America as well as two 765 kV transmission line projects from a reputed domestic developer. The company described the wins as a validation of its project capabilities and international traction.
Skipper's director Sharan Bansal indicated that the receipt of orders aggregating to Rs 13.05 bn across domestic and international markets endorsed the company's execution capabilities, technical expertise and growing customer confidence. He noted particular encouragement at renewed momentum in the export business, with orders from developed markets gaining traction in line with the company's expectations. The range of contracts was said to strengthen a diversified T&D portfolio and reinforce the firm's position as a partner for complex power infrastructure projects.
The director added that export opportunities were picking up across targeted developed markets and that the company expected momentum to strengthen as market conditions improved. Management viewed the sustained inflows as reflecting significant investments in transmission infrastructure, grid expansion and renewable energy integration in India and globally. With a healthy order book and pipeline, the company said it would focus on disciplined project selection, efficient execution and a balanced domestic and international mix to scale the business.
Skipper is described as among the world's leading manufacturers of power transmission and distribution structures and a key EPC player in 765 kV transmission lines and substations, with operations in telecom, railway structures and polymer pipes and fittings. On a consolidated basis, net profit rose 25.52 per cent to Rs 568.1 million (mn) in the quarter ended June 2026 from Rs 452.6 mn in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, while sales increased 4.46 per cent to Rs 13.10 bn from Rs 12.54 bn.
