Mumbai, Aug. 12 -- RPSG Group's renewable-energy arm will acquire Renew Solar Power's portfolio for Rs 48.59 billion (bn). The transaction was announced by the companies in a joint statement that outlined the transfer of solar assets and development rights and said the deal will consolidate ownership under a single renewables platform.
The acquisition will strengthen RPSG Group's position in the renewable-energy sector by adding a diversified set of projects to its holdings. The portfolio comprises operational plants and projects at various stages of development across multiple regions. Company executives framed the deal as part of a broader strategy to scale clean-energy investments. The move signals an acceleration of inorganic growth as firms pursue greater scale in renewables.
Under the terms disclosed, the transfer covers both completed installations and assets under construction, as well as associated land and power purchase agreements. Financial advisors and legal counsel were engaged to support the transaction process, according to the statement. The firms indicated that commercial operations of the acquired assets will be integrated into RPSG's existing renewables platform. Operational teams will continue routine management during the transition to preserve output and contractual obligations.
The companies said the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory clearances and closing conditions before it becomes final. No financing breakdown was provided, and both parties declined to disclose further commercial terms beyond the headline consideration. Stakeholder engagement will continue as approvals are sought from relevant authorities.
Industry analysts noted that such consolidation is reshaping the domestic solar market by accelerating capacity build-out and investment flows. The acquisition will influence project delivery timelines and contractor activity as assets change hands. Management at RPSG will oversee the integration and operational continuity of the portfolio following completion. Market participants will watch the transition for implications on procurement and local supply chains.
