Mumbai, Oct. 23 -- Power Mech Projects has secured an operations and maintenance order from Vedanta Aluminium Metal for facilities at a coal-fired co-generation power plant in Kalahandi, Lanjigarh, Odisha. The contract has a total value of Rs. 3.27 bn, excluding goods and services tax (GST).
The scope covers end-to-end operations and maintenance of 130 MW of generation capacity, comprising two 50 MW units and one 30 MW unit. It also includes operations and maintenance of the balance of plant (BOP) facilities supporting an additional 90 MW capacity.
The company disclosed the order in a regulatory filing dated October 19, 2026. It classified the award as a domestic contract for operations and maintenance services, with the work to be undertaken at Vedanta's facility in Odisha.
The contract period will extend for 48 months. The filing did not provide a separate execution schedule within the contract term, but identified the complete operating and maintenance responsibility for the specified generating units and associated BOP infrastructure as the principal deliverable.
Power Mech Projects also stated that its promoters, promoter group and group companies have no interest in the entity awarding the contract. It further confirmed that the order does not fall within the scope of related-party transactions. The disclosure was submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE under applicable securities market reporting requirements.
The order adds to Power Mech Projects' portfolio of power-sector operations and maintenance work. By combining responsibility for the 130 MW generation assets with BOP operations for the 90 MW facility, the mandate covers both plant-level operations and supporting infrastructure at the Odisha site. Financial and operational performance under the contract will be recognised over its 48-month duration, subject to the agreed terms and conditions.
