Mumbai, Oct. 29 -- Redevelopment work at Jadcherla Railway Station in Telangana has reached 79 per cent completion, with the project being executed at a cost of Rs. 366.7 mn. The project is focused on improving passenger amenities, accessibility and the overall travel experience at the station in Mahabubnagar district.

The works include an upgraded circulating area with improved parking facilities, a compound wall, a modern station facade and an improved concourse. Platform improvement works, including granite flooring and VDC works, are also part of the redevelopment programme.

A second entry is being developed with a new station building, a circulating area and approach roads. The planned passenger facilities include Pay & Use toilets, an entrance arch, an additional Covered Over Platform (COP) and a 12-metre-wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB).

Three lifts connecting the existing foot overbridges have been completed, while improvement works on Platforms 1, 2 and 3 have also been carried out. These facilities are intended to improve movement across the station and provide better access for passengers.

Work is continuing on tiling at the Pay & Use toilet block, cladding for the facade and entrance arch, water supply and drainage systems, and construction of the additional COP. Foundation work for the gangway, lifts and escalators linked to the proposed 12-metre-wide FOB is also under way.

Once completed, the redevelopment will provide upgraded passenger facilities and improve safety and comfort at the station. The project is part of efforts to modernise station infrastructure and strengthen access arrangements for passengers using Jadcherla Railway Station.
