Mumbai, Sept. 7 -- The Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal (the Indian minister), met the German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Climate Protection and Nuclear Safety, Carsten Schneider (the German minister), in New Delhi to review bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The meeting focused on strengthening ties to support sustainable development and energy security. Officials from both sides presented updates on ongoing projects and initiatives that underpin the relationship. Senior officials will coordinate detailed technical follow up and reporting.
Discussions covered energy security, electrification, low carbon development, carbon markets and diversification of supply chains, reflecting a broad agenda of mutual interest. The ministers explored avenues to deepen collaboration and identified areas where technical exchange and policy alignment could accelerate decarbonisation. They noted that cooperation could reinforce national efforts to ensure affordable and reliable energy while advancing climate objectives.
