Mumbai, Oct. 28 -- Highway Infrastructure has received a Letter of Acceptance worth Rs. 3.4 bn from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for operating the Palayam fee plaza in Tamil Nadu. The contract, awarded on October 23, 2026, has a tenure of one year.
The project involves engaging a user fee collection agency through competitive e-tendering for the Palayam fee plaza on National Highway 44 (NH 44). The plaza is located on the Krishnagiri-to-Thirumangalam section, which is being operated on a build-operate-transfer basis.
The scope also includes the upkeep and maintenance of adjacent toilet blocks, along with replenishment of consumable items. Highway Infrastructure said the contract was awarded by a domestic entity, while its promoter and promoter group companies have no interest in the awarding entity. It added that the contract does not constitute a related-party transaction.
The company also recently entered into a Rs. 2.21 bn contract agreement with the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority for collecting user fees and operating toll plazas on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. The agreement, signed on September 30, followed an LOA issued on September 16 and covers two years.
Under the Gorakhpur project, the first-year consideration is Rs. 1.05 bn, followed by a 10 per cent annual escalation in the second year. The work also includes deploying four patrol-cum-safety vehicles with the required personnel along the expressway. Highway Infrastructure said the contract was awarded by a domestic entity and does not involve a related-party transaction.
Shares of Highway Infrastructure closed at Rs. 54.43 on the BSE on Friday, gaining Rs. 0.28, or 0.52 per cent. The company's recent orders expand its role in toll plaza operations and user fee collection across multiple highway projects.
