Mumbai, Oct. 28 -- GK Energy has secured a Rs. 3.3 bn order from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) to supply and install 14,000 off-grid solar water pumping systems across Maharashtra. The project is being executed under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, a state programme supporting solar-powered agricultural irrigation.

The company received a Letter of Award (LoA) for direct-current photovoltaic pumping systems, each with a capacity of 5 HP. The order value includes GST and covers the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of the systems, according to a regulatory filing by GK Energy.

GK Energy is required to complete the order within 60 days of the issuance of the work order or Notice to Proceed. The award adds to the company's recent expansion across renewable energy businesses and follows its entry into battery energy storage systems (BESS) last month.

In the BESS segment, GK Energy secured a 150 MW/300 MWh capacity allocation at a tariff of Rs. 0.2 mn/MW/month through MSEDCL's auction for a 2,000 MW/4,000 MWh storage project in Maharashtra. The project is structured around one cycle of energy storage. In August 2026, the company also secured a Rs. 4.55 bn empanelment contract from a state distribution company to install rooftop solar systems for 100,000 households, with an aggregate capacity of 100 MW.

As of June 2026, GK Energy had installed more than 164,500 renewable energy systems and commissioned over 726 MW of renewable energy capacity across India. Its operational presence extended across more than 7,500 villages, indicating a broad delivery and installation network for decentralised energy projects. The latest award is expected to further increase its activity in Maharashtra's agricultural solarisation market.
