Mumbai, Aug. 12 -- MLA Baldev Raj Sharma held a public meeting at Panchayat Sirah Kotla in Block Panthal that drew local residents, youth and prominent citizens. He highlighted development works and projects worth Rs 40.5 million (mn) from his constituency development fund (CDF). The gathering included BJP district president Rohit Dubey, DDC Panthal Rajinder Kumar Mengi, BJP vice president Parbhat Singh and other local leaders.

He announced an allocation of Rs five million (mn) for the development of playgrounds across 10 Panchayats of Block Panthal, with Rs zero point five mn earmarked for each Panchayat. He said every Panchayat should have proper sports facilities so that youth can engage in sports and constructive activities. He informed the meeting that one mn has been released from his CDF for the construction of a culvert connecting Panchayat Sirah Kotla and Panchayat Dhirti.

He further informed attendees that one mn has been sanctioned for the blacktopping of Shahukar Mohalla road and that tendering is under way. He described a proposed road from Main road to Shamshan Ghat via Akhed Mohalla estimated at Rs 33.5 mn and said the project is in the pipeline. He also highlighted the installation of a 250 KVA transformer at Panchayat Sirah Kotla.

During public interaction residents raised a number of demands and issues and the MLA outlined measures to address their genuine concerns. He urged the youth to refrain from drug use and to focus on education, skill development and sports as part of the Nasha Mukt campaign while calling on parents, teachers and community representatives to work together to build a drug-free society. He added that sanctioned works will proceed subject to tendering and administrative clearances and that officials would keep the community informed of progress.
