New Delhi, June 16 -- Meta has reportedly begun unwinding its $2 billion acquisition of agentic AI startup Manus, perhaps the clearest sign yet that governments are prepared to intervene deeply in AI transactions involving strategic technologies, talent, and data.

It was initially seen as a landmark deal for the emerging agentic AI sector but has instead become a case study in the limits of globalisation in the age of sovereign AI.

According to multiple reports, Meta has begun dismantling its acquisition of Manus after Chinese authorities ordered the transaction to be reversed on national security grounds earlier this year.
