New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- Scapia has introduced biometric authentication for UPI payments on Scapia Pay, allowing users to approve eligible transactions of up to Rs.10,000 using Face ID or fingerprint recognition instead of entering a UPI PIN.

The feature is available on iOS through Face ID and on Android through fingerprint authentication. Transactions above Rs.10,000 continue to require the standard UPI PIN, according to Scapia.

The biometric check takes place on the user's device, with Scapia saying biometric data is not transmitted to or stored by the company or the linked bank.
