New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- Newtap Finance has been upgraded to a Crisil A- rating for its borrowing programs, including bank loans and non-convertible debentures (NCDs), as the non-banking financial company expands its lending portfolio.

The rating announcement comes as Newtap scales its digitally driven lending business and broadens its access to bank and capital-market funding. The company said its managed loan portfolio stood at Rs.4,582 crore as of March 31, 2026, while its on-book assets under management were Rs.859 crore.

Under Crisil's long-term rating scale, instruments in the A category are considered to have an adequate degree of safety for timely servicing of financial obligations and carry low credit risk.
