Mumbai, July 28 -- State governments raised Rs 19,280.09 crore through the auction of State Government Securities (SGS) on Tuesday against a notified amount of Rs 18,100 crore, as Maharashtra accepted additional amounts in three securities while Punjab accepted a lower amount in one security and an additional amount in another.

Maharashtra emerged as the largest borrower, raising Rs 6,250 crore against a notified amount of Rs 5,000 crore through three re-issued securities. The state borrowed Rs 1,250 crore through the re-issue of the 7.35% Maharashtra SGS 2031 at a cut-off price of Rs 101.40, translating into a yield of 6.9911%.
