Mumbai, Oct. 10 -- Global Sugar futures are slipping in tune with steady supplies expectations; Prices are giving up theur recent gains as the NY Raw sugar futures failed to hold around two-month high near 17 cents per pound this week. The counter has drifted lower and currently hover around 16.25 cents per pound- testing one week low. Sugar has been under stress overall and tested four-year low last month amid hopes of elevated supplies. The outlook for higher sugar exports from India is weighing on global sugar prices, as abundant monsoon rains are expected to lead to a bumper sugar crop.
