INR recovers amid softening in the US dollar and crude oil prices
Mumbai, Oct. 9 -- The Indian rupee appreciated 16 paise to close at 96.72 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, in tandem with its broader Asian peers, supported by a slight softening in the US dollar and crude oil prices. The greenback weakened and crude oil prices eased following remarks by US President Donald Trump that the US would refrain from military action against Iran ahead of the November midterm elections. Indian shares rose sharply on Friday, rebounding after two consecutive sessions of losses as oil prices fell and global bond yields steadied, helping ease concerns around inflation and interest rates.
