Mumbai, Oct. 29 -- The key equity indices traded modest gains in early trade on Wednesday. The Nifty traded above 22700 level. Brent crude prices declined supported by positive signs of fresh diplomacy on Iran, cheers the market.

Media, IT and PSU Bank shares advanced while auto, realty and metal shares declined.

At 09:25 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex advanced 106.73 points or 0.14% to 73,427.93. The Nifty 50 index rose 28.35 points or 0.12% to 22,727.20.

In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap 150 Index rose 0.23% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index added 0.03%.

The market breadth was positive. On the BSE, 1,484 shares rose and 1,284 shares fell. A total of 94 shares were unchanged.
