Government raises Rs 24,000 crore through T-Bill auction; 91-day paper draws strongest demand
Mumbai, Aug. 19 -- The government raised Rs 24,000 crore through the auction of Treasury Bills (T-Bills) on Wednesday, with the 91-day paper attracting the strongest competitive demand among the three maturities on offer.
The auction comprised Rs 9,000 crore of 91-day T-Bills, Rs 8,000 crore of 182-day T-Bills and Rs 7,000 crore of 364-day T-Bills.
The 91-day paper attracted competitive bids worth Rs 28,091.25 crore against the notified amount of Rs 9,000 crore, implying subscription of about 3.12 times. The cut-off yield stood at 5.2603%, while the weighted average yield was 5.2554%.
The 182-day T-Bill received competitive bids worth Rs 15,874 crore against Rs 8,000 crore, translating into subscription of about 1.98 times. The cut-off...
