Mumbai, Sept. 2 -- The government raised Rs 24,000 crore through the auction of Treasury Bills (T-Bills) on Wednesday, with the 182-day paper attracting the highest competitive bid demand among the three maturities.

The auction comprised Rs 9,000 crore of 91-day T-Bills, Rs 8,000 crore of 182-day T-Bills and Rs 7,000 crore of 364-day T-Bills.

The 91-day paper attracted competitive bids worth Rs 29,550.36 crore against the notified amount of Rs 9,000 crore, implying subscription of about 3.28 times. The cut-off yield stood at 5.2599%, while the weighted average yield was 5.2525%.
