Mumbai, Oct. 13 -- The British Pound stayed supported around three-month low against US dollar as markets eyed modest improvement in UK economic prospects. UK economic growth is projected to remain stable at 1.3 percent in 2026, IMF noted today, marking a 0.5 percentage point upward revision from its April update. This capped losses for GBP and GBP/USD pair is currently at 1.3233, up 0.19% on the day. However, overall sentiment is mixed as IMF noted that UK GDP will likely to edge down to 1.2 percent in 2027 as higher energy prices and long-term interest rates weigh on consumption and investment. On NSE, GBP/INR futures are down half a percent at 126.59 as firm undertone in INR against US dollar spilled over.
