Mumbai, July 9 -- Wholesale inventories in the United States increased by 0.1% in May compared to the revised April reading, reaching $941.8 billion, the Census Bureau said in its report published on Wednesday. Year-over-year, the figure was up by 4%.

Sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, stood at $817.4 billion, climbing 3.4% on a monthly basis and surging 18.1% on an annual basis.

The ratio between inventories and sales for merchant wholesalers was 1.15, compared to 1.31 registered in May 2025.
