Mumbai, May 7 -- Private employers in the U.S. added 109,000 jobs in April, according to the latest ADP National Employment Report, beating market expectations of 79,000 new jobs. The March figure was slightly revised down to 61,000 from 62,000. The stronger April reading pushed the three-month average job gain to 79,000, the highest level since February 2025.

Most of the hiring growth came from service-related industries, which added 94,000 jobs during the month. Education and health services led the gains with 61,000 new positions, marking the sector's strongest increase since October last year.
