Mumbai, Oct. 3 -- The US Nonfarm payrolls added just 29,000 in September, marking a lax performance. The unemployment rate increased to 4.2%, though largely due to an influx of members in the labor force. Wage growth slipped to its lowest annual level since May 2021. This marked slowest monthly growth of the year. Meanwhile, the August jobs count was revised lower to reflect a gain of 133,000 while July switched from a gain to a loss as payrolls fell by 10,000. The revisions in total showed 60,000 fewer jobs than previously reported.
