Mumbai, Sept. 1 -- Economic activity in the manufacturing sector expanded in August for the eighth consecutive month, according to latest ISM Manufacturing PMI data. The Manufacturing PMI registered 54.6 percent in August, 1 percentage point below the July figure of 55.6 percent. The ISM survey's new orders measure slipped to 53.7 last month from 56.7 in July.
