Mumbai, July 31 -- Initial jobless claims in the United States stood at 197,000 in the week ending July 25, up by 9,000 from the previous week, the Department of Labor said in its weekly report on Thursday. The 4-week moving average was 202,750, a decrease of 5,000 from the previous week's revised average.
The insured unemployment rate was 1.2% for the week ending July 18, with the total for insured unemployment at 1,782,000, falling by 7,000 compared to the previous week. The 4-week moving average was 1,797,500, a decrease of 6,000 from the previous week's revised average.
