Mumbai, April 8 -- Durable goods orders in the United States decreased 1.4% in February to reach $315.5 billion, the US Census Bureau reported on Tuesday. The figure marks a decline from January's revised dip of 0.5%.
Transportation equipment led the decrease, falling 5.4% to reach $106.1 billion. The new orders, excluding transportation, jumped 0.8%, and excluding defense, dropped 1.2%.
Shipments of manufactured durable goods advanced 1.3%, reaching $319.2 billion. Unfilled orders of durable goods added 0.1%, landing at $1,539.3 billion.
