Mumbai, Aug. 26 -- Consumer confidence in the United States dipped in August, with the Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index falling to 89.4 from 90.8 in the previous month.
The Expectations Index, based on consumers' short-term outlook for income, business and labour market conditions, retreated by 5.8 points to 68.2, while the Present Situation Index went up 6.8 points to reach 121.2, ending a three-month-long decline.
