Mumbai, April 13 -- U.S. The Consumer Sentiment Index in the United States declined 10.7% in April compared to the month prior, to stand at 47.6, a preliminary report published by the University of Michigan showed on Friday. The figure was 8.8% up on an annual level and came lower than analyst's forecasts.

The Current Economic Conditions Index dropped 10.2% in the reported period compared to March and slid 16.2% compared to March 2025, landing at 50.1 points. The Index of Consumer Expectations retreated 10.8% on a monthly basis and fell 2.5% on a yearly basis, coming in at 46.1.
