Mumbai, Sept. 18 -- The United Kingdom's retail sales volumes jumped 2.4% in August compared with the same month a year earlier, the Office for National Statistics said in a report published on Friday.
On a monthly basis, the figure rose 0.5%, with non-store retailing up 1.7% and department store sales up 1.8%. Meanwhile, automotive fuel sales declined by 1.3% compared with the previous month.
In the three months to August, sales volumes went up by 0.9% quarter-over-quarter and 2.4% year-over-year.
