Mumbai, April 28 -- Japan's unemployment rate stood at 2.7% in March on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to Tuesday's report by the country's Statistics Bureau.

The figure came in slightly higher than expected and was up from last month's 2.6%.

The job-to-applicant ratio edged down from the previous month's 1.19 to 1.18, meaning there were 118 job openings for every 100 job seekers.
