Mumbai, June 8 -- The Japanese economy grew by 0.5% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous quarter, the Cabinet Office said in a second report on Monday, confirming the preliminary figure.

Year-on-year, the gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 2.1%. The GDP deflator, which tracks changes in the prices of goods and services, was 0.3% compared to the previous quarter.
