Economic Buzz: Japan's manufacturing and services activity expands in August

Mumbai, Aug. 21 -- Japan's manufacturing performance continued to grow in August, with the Flash Japan Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rising from the previous month's 54.5 to 55.1, Friday's preliminary data from S&P Global showed.

Japan's services sector continued to expand in August, with the Services Business Activity Index rising to 52.3 from 51.2 in July, S&P Global said Friday.

The S&P Global Japan Composite PMI Output Index climbed to 53.4 in August from 52.7 in July.
