Mumbai, May 19 -- Japan's industrial production index was at 102.0 in March, marking a 2.4% increase from the previous year and a 0.4% decrease from February, according to a report from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The index for inventories and the inventory ratio fell by 5.3% and 5.6% year-on-year, respectively, while the shipments index increased by 2.2%. Month-on-month, the index of shipments went down by 0.9%, while the inventories index and inventory ratio lost 1.8% and 0.7%, respectively.
