Mumbai, May 22 -- Japan's annual inflation eased to 1.4% in April 2026 from 1.5% in March, while core inflation also slowed to 1.4%, the lowest since March 2022 and below the Bank of Japan's 2% target for a third consecutive month. Softer food and energy prices contributed to the slowdown, while monthly consumer prices rose 0.1%.
