Mumbai, Aug. 17 -- Japan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 0.3% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the previous quarter, preliminary data from the Cabinet Office showed on Monday.
The reading came below market expectations and slowed from the 0.5% increase recorded in the previous quarter.
On an annualized basis, GDP expanded 1.1%, while the GDP deflator, which measures price changes in the economy, increased 2.6% year-on-year.
