Mumbai, Oct. 6 -- India's services sector gained momentum in September, with the HSBC India Services PMI Business Activity Index rising to 55.2, from 54.1 in August, marking the strongest growth since June. Stronger demand for digital solutions, food, insurance, loans, software, transport and travel supported new business.
New orders grew at the fastest pace in three months, while international demand improved, particularly from Germany, the UAE, the UK and the US. Employment continued to rise, though hiring growth eased from August.
Cost pressures also moderated, with input price inflation falling to its weakest since November 2025. Charge inflation eased to its lowest since June.
