Mumbai, Sept. 30 -- Retail trade turnover in Germany observed an annual drop of 0.4% in real terms in August, the country's statistical office Destatis revealed in its report published on Wednesday. On the other hand, in nominal terms, the figure increased by 2.6%.
Compared to the previous month, Germany's retail sales jumped by 1.3% in real terms and 1.7% in nominal terms.
On an annual basis, retail sales of food products increased by 0.5% in real terms and 0.9% in nominal terms. On a monthly basis, they rose by 0.9% and 1%, respectively. Non-food retail trade saw an annual fall of 0.8% in real terms and an increase of 3.5% in nominal terms. Monthly, they climbed by 1.6% and 2% in real and nominal terms.
