Mumbai, Sept. 18 -- Producer prices in Germany rose by 4.6% in August compared to the same month in the previous year, the country's statistical office Destatis revealed in its report on Friday. The figure increased by 1.1% compared to July.

The annual rise in producer prices in the reported month was mainly attributed to an increase in energy prices, which climbed by 8.3% year-on-year, followed by prices for intermediate goods, which advanced by 6.1% compared to August 2026. Capital goods and durable goods grew by 2.4% and 2.1%, respectively, on an annual basis, while consumer goods declined by 2.0%.
