Mumbai, July 7 -- Industrial production in Germany rose 0.9% month on month in May, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in its report published on Tuesday. Output in the industry was unchanged in comparison to the same timeframe a year ago.

The largest contributor to the monthly increase was the automotive industry, as production in the sector grew 3.6% in May compared to April. In addition, production of capital goods added 1.3%, and the manufacture of consumer goods gained 1.2% on a monthly level. Meanwhile, the production of intermediate goods declined 0.4%.

Production in industry, excluding energy and construction, increased 0.8% in May compared to the previous month, and down 1% compared to May 2025.
