Mumbai, June 9 -- Industrial production in Germany rose 0.4% month on month in April, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in its report published on Tuesday. Output in the industry fell 0.5% in comparison to the same timeframe a year ago.
The largest contributor to the monthly increase was construction, as production in the sector grew 2.4% in April compared to March. In addition, production in the chemical industry added 2.1%, and the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, gained 1.6% on a monthly level. The growth was somewhat offset by a 4.7% fall in production in the automotive industry.
