Mumbai, Oct. 7 -- Industrial production in Germany increased by 2% in August compared with the previous month, the country's Federal Statistical Office, Destatis, revealed in its report published on Wednesday. On an annual basis, industrial output rose 2.3%.
The largest contributor to the monthly increase was the construction industry, as production in the sector jumped 9.3% in month-over-month. On a monthly basis, the production of capital goods advanced by 1.2%, and the production of consumer goods by 0.6%. On the other hand, intermediate goods output declined by 0.2%.
Production in industry, excluding energy and construction, rose 0.6% in August compared to the month before.
