Mumbai, July 6 -- Seasonally and price-adjusted new factory orders in Germany increased by 1.9% in May compared to the previous month, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in a report published on Monday.

Domestic orders rose by 1.3% compared to April, while foreign orders climbed by 2.2%. New orders of intermediate goods increased by 1.4%, while consumer goods orders jumped by 2.4%, and orders of capital goods were up by 2.2%.

On an annual basis, calendar-adjusted new factory orders surged 6.2% in May.
