Mumbai, June 3 -- Producer prices in the Eurozone and the entire European Union rose by 0.6% and 0.7% in April, respectively, when compared to the previous month, the European Commission's statistical office, Eurostat, revealed in a report released on Wednesday. Meanwhile, year over year, the index recorded a 4.9% growth in both the euro area and the EU.
In the Eurozone, on a monthly basis, while energy prices decreased 0.4%, intermediate goods prices edged up 1.8%. In the entire bloc, the prices of energy added 0.3%, and intermediate goods prices saw a 1.8% rise. Durable consumer goods and capital goods prices registered a 0.3% growth in the euro area and in the EU. Non-durable consumer goods prices remained stable in both areas.
