Mumbai, Aug. 28 -- The Eurozone consumer confidence index stood at a negative 15.5 in August, gaining 0.4 points from the previous month, the European Commission confirmed in its second report published on Friday. In the European Union, consumer confidence improved by 0.1 points to a negative 15.

The euro area economic sentiment indicator increased by 1.3 points month-on-month, reaching 98.4, while in the EU it added 1 point to 98.2. The industrial confidence index grew by 0.8 points to a negative 5.3, while the services confidence stood at 5.8, up 1.1 points compared to July.
