Mumbai, July 20 -- The seasonally adjusted construction output in the euro area rose 0.4% in May on a monthly basis, Eurostat said in its report on Monday. Year over year, the reading was up 1.2%. In the entire European Union, the figure grew 0.3% compared to April and 1.8% compared to the same timeframe a year earlier.

In the Eurozone, building construction saw a monthly decline of 0.7% and civil engineering lost 0.5%. Year over year, building construction slid 6.6% and civil engineering increased 3.5%.

Building construction in the entire EU decreased 0.4% in May compared to April, while civil engineering fell 1.3%. In comparison to the same period in 2025, building construction tumbled 5.2% and civil engineering increased 2.3%.
